After making headlines last week for potentially becoming the first black woman and female director of a Marvel movie, it now looks as if Ava DuVernay (Selma) will not be helping the upcoming release of Black Panther after all.



It was slated to be an origin story, something that DuVernay was quoted as having interest in. Now that she has had further discussions with Marvel, however, creative differences have emerged and she has backed out of directing the film.
