Beijing has made big waves in short time. Since debuting their own special brand of alternative rock just a few years ago, this American band from Connecticut has achieved national success and plenty of indie buzz. Compared to such popular acts as The Smashing Pumpkins and Kings of Leon, Beijing is steadily climbing its way to worldwide acclaim.


Forming in mid-2011, Beijing (Eric Thornberg – vox, Bill Pruchnicki – drums, Jack Hoppingarner – bass, vox, Thom Smith – guitar, synthesizer, vox) released their debut EP, It’s Not So Simple. Four tracks of tricked out grunge set off by Thornberg’s vocal prowess that buzzed and burned over each song. This album set the band on a course they are presently still on. 2013 brings their latest effort for release. ‘Night‘ is the dark and edgy album that fans have been waiting for and it delivers. “Wax Wings” begins with a staccato guitar and then builds into a melding of vocals and melodies featuring lyrics that go over and under the chorus. “Broken Glass” is probably the band’s standout. If you like pure rock Americana-style, this is it. Another track worth mentioning is the track “Standing”, a mid-tempo song about love and lossCheck out Beijing and get ready to R-O-C-K!




Triston is an American jetset performance artist, writer, event organizer, and activist based in Europe.
