With this release, the color yellow may very well become the new color of musical love…

Incorporating elements of soul, jazz, funk combined with ethereal vocals, singer-songwriter Charity has just released an EP, Yellow, that will satisfy soul enthusiasts across the board, from the first track to the last note.

Hailing from one of the most musical cities in America, Detroit native Charity wastes no time in converting the non-believers, setting her style of soul upon listeners with four tracks that solidly display her talent in no uncertain terms.

Pretty’, the introductory track will have many comparing her to the likes of popular singers like Kelis or Janelle Monae, but her lyrics and vocals that make the song all her own. Those strings and that bassline give it something listeners all can feel and it is evident that her songwriting is sheer icing on the cake. Charity brings the staccato and the bravado on the next track, ‘Inspired’. It’s sultry, smooth, and an all-around catchy track that will have fans pressing REPEAT more than a few times. After giving us ‘Beautiful Moments’, the final song is a great swan song that will have fans waiting for her full album release in the near future. ‘Undescribable’ is heavy on piano, with backing vocals that give it a texture and layering that many artists fail to capitalize on.

For those that have been relishing a return to adult soul music, Charity has ushered forth an effort that is both celebratory and revolutionary all at once. Yellow, available on September 18th, is fresh, fiery, and determined to save soul music.
This Charity case is sonically signed, sealed, and delivered.
