And can there really be a Twin Peaks without David Lynch at the helm?

Via Twitter, the acclaimed director had this to say about his exit…

“After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.”

The plan was to begin a limited edition run a la the new X-Files on Showtime, but Lynch wants his checks and is clearly not budging. Will there still be a reboot? Showtime released this in response…

“Showtime also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.”

In other words, there may still be discussions until Lynch gets his checks!

Stay tuned…
