Debbie Allen is one of Hollywood’s female power players changing the game for ALL women

Calling her a tripe-threat would be an understatement because phrases have not yet been invented to describe the powerhouse that is Debbie Allen. As an artist whose career has spanned every type of stage from Broadway to television, dancer to director, she has now officially been name as executive producer to one of the biggest television shows currently in the world. Allen, in addition to producing for the award-winning series, will direct multiple episodes and continue on in her recurring role as Catherine, the mother to Jackson Avery’s character.

For those not in the know, Allen is escalating her partnership with series creator Shonda Rimes, where she has acted as a director for her other shoes – Scandal starring Kerry Washington, and How to Get Away with Murder, starring Viola Davis. She has also directed for Empire, a show that has set its own records this previous season in viewership

This news is not only great for black women, but for women at large.
