Monks is MOM’s attempt at pop rock, and a nice, catchy attempt at veering from their signature sound. The title track is where the band truly shines, delivering on what industry insiders have been whispering about the past few years. From a vocal yearn to a heartfelt scream, this is the song that transcends the mediocre abyss that plagues so many music makers these days.

The overwhelming success of the Neurogenesis EP has garnered the band international acclaim and radio play worldwide, with the band receiving exposure on several networks, including The Discovery Channel, Fox Sports, and MTV, which featured their song ‘Neverending Spirit’ on ‘The Real World – St. Thomas’. The accompanying video to the song has also received significant rotation on MTV networks.

Monks of Mellonwah deliver epic, dynamic tracks in the vein of alternative rock from the early to mid-90s era. This is an example of when the term ‘commercial rock’ is not an insult but high praise. As their fan base continues to grow worldwide, the music industry is taking notice. The band was award the ‘International Rock Artist of the Year’ at the Los Angeles Music Awards and ‘Best Indie Rock Band’ at the Artists in Music Awards last year. With two EPs under their belt and their full-length album set for release in 2013, the direction of Monks of Mellonwah remains defiantly forward.
