Kimia Penton: Lessons From Life and Love

To be compared to phenoms such as Sade and Diana Krall means you are in truly great company and such is the heat behind Dallas-based artist Kimia Penton, who is causing ripples within the music industry with her upcoming album Lessons From Life and Love, which is a textured, melodic offering that incorporates elements of jazz, pop, soul, and world music to an enthusiastic mix.

If Penton’s sound is just to the left of the center, it may have something to do with her unconventional upbringing and the cultures she was exposed to that surely influences her creative output. Although she now resides in Dallas, Texas, she was born in the Middle East and raised in London, it is obvious that Penton is a fan of big band music, which is evident throughout the album, complete with lyrics that frame each track to near perfection. Unlike many artists that leave production work entirely to a separate team, Kimia Penton takes an active part in the creation of her music from start to finish, collaborating with producers Whiskey Holler, The Funky Knuckles, The Selkie Girls, and many more to craft music that maintains her unique sound and comes off as fresh.

Penton’s album Lessons From Life and Love is set for release on October 16th and her fans will finally be able to enjoy her latest release which is sure to appease her current fans and expand her base even further.
