Kimora

Things are about get very interesting in the hip hop community, and you can thank Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons for that!

But before we gather Kimora, we should note how long it has taken her to sashay her way into the conversation that is #TimesUp and #MeToo.

Moving on…

We can only speculate if money has been transferred between accounts or whatevs, but now that the ink has dried on their deal (and don’t get it twisted, because there was one), Kimora ‘jailbait’ Lee has decided to throw her lightweight, feathered hat into the ring of support for women and female empowerment. The former model, and ex-wife of Russell Simmons hopped on her Instagram account to release a statement:

“I add my voice to the chorus of those speaking out against harassment and violence in all its forms. I have known Russell for over 25 years. We were close friends, married, divorced, and have remained friends, co-parents and partners throughout it all. These allegations against him are nothing like the person I have known in all that time. I have known him to be a caring and supportive father and someone who has worked tirelessly to uplift disenfranchised communities.”

Simmons has helped the hip hop community as much as he has hurt it. How’s YOUR RushCard doin’?

For those that have been living in a deserted cellar the past few months, Simmons, 60, has been accused by 15 women (and counting) of rape, sexual assault, and/or sexual conduct. One of the alleged victims includes Lena Horne’s granddaughter, who claims she was raped 26 years ago. As the allegations and lawsuits continue to accumulate, the hip hop mogul has recently issued a statement in his defense:

“I look forward to having my day in court – where, unlike the court of public opinion, I will have the ability to make use of fair processes that ensure that justice will be done and that the full truth will be known.”

the hip hop community hasn’t forgotten underage Kimora dating a then 35 Simmons back in the day

For her part, Simmons’ ex-wife and former model, Kimora, now 42, has been absent, mute and tardy for the party the past few months as the allegations mounted. Could it be because it is public knowledge that Russell met and courted her when she was in her mid-teens and he was in his mid-30s?

Probably.

Brett Ratner & Simmons are both under investigation for sexual misconduct

Anyway, the Phat Farm founder is being investigated by the NYPD as he has stepped aside from his business ventures. His attempts to vindicate himself via his #NotMe hashtag fell on deaf ears on social media and now receipts are being hurled left and right.

Whatever Kimora got in their divorce definitely did not cover issues such as these, and with Kimora now coming to his defense, the question is if she is truly a protector of women or is she just cashing checks in the corner and waiting for the dust to clear?

This smells quite similar to Marchesa founder and soon to be ex-wife of Harvey Weinstein, Georgina Chapman. Don’t get it twisted, folx. These society women always vet these high-profile men before saying ‘I, do’. Their hope is that their men stay rich and powerful enough to shield and suppress the rumors until they’ve cashed out.

Kimora?

You’re possibly in violation.

You canNOT come through.

Bye!
