For well over two decades, there has been speculation about replacing James Bond with a woman.
How about Lashana Lynch?
If you don’t know her name yet, by this time next year, all eyes and ears will be on the acclaimed British actress, who reportedly has been cast to take over as 007 in the upcoming Bond film opposite Daniel Craig.
According to sources familiar to the script (penned by Phoebe Waller-Briggs), Lynch will pop up in a pivotal scene in the movie, when 007 is introduced as a beautiful black woman.
Says an insider:
“It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman. Bond, of course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don’t work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed. Well, certainly not at the beginning.”
And in another fitting move in tune with the current #MeToo movement, all Bond girls are heretofore addressed as ‘Bond WOMEN.”
How’s that for progress?
Fans can currently see Lynch in Captain Marvel portraying pilot and best friend to the superhero, Maria Rambeau.
