If you are looking for middle-of-the-road, typical, standard music that leaves no lasting impression, then don’t look here! My Woshin Mashin are a triumvirate of musical expansion that is hard to pigeon-hole, which is more than likely by design and what feeds their artistic drive.

The origins of this group don’t even sound normal. Bibi Tulin, Hugo Simmons, and Wolfgang Scherman are a Russian-German trio that left old bands to release new sounds and the results have led to music that can some may refer to as ingenuous and others may find sonically appalling. Their latest musical offering, Evil Must Die, is a hybrid of German pop music, British metal and old school. It is the follow-up to their previous acclaimed CDs Amazing Demo, We Came in Peace, and Mawama.

The first few tracks of My Woshin Mashin are heavily EDM-based and are heavy on the beats and effects. It is not until the fourth song that things die down a bit and the vocals of singer Bibi Tulin shine through.

The production of this latest CD melds elements of genres that many may find outside their normal boundaries but for sheer effort, it is definitely worth a listen.

My Woshin Mashin has played alongside bands like RTR Tecrap, Das Pferd, Covenant, and many other prominent bands that have played around Europe and now they are setting their sights on American soil. Indeed, their video for ‘The Smell of Love’ has already made a splash in Las Vegas and they have already amassed a videography that lends credence to their singular style.

More of their music can be heard below and check out the accompanying videos for a true sonic shakedown.
