This would certainly rock our boat!

It’s been nearly fifteen years since Aaliyah died tragically in a plane crash and her popularity has never seemed to wane since that time. Regarded as one of the first artists to incorporate a futuristic sound that is now liberally borrowed by several artists, she is recognized as a singer truly ahead of her time.

After her death, a CD was released with un-released material, but there were rumblings that there was far more available in her vault and now comes word that a second posthumous album is on the horizon. The problem has always been the family of Aaliyah Houghton, which has blocked most releases of any new material. Producer Timbaland, however, has just proclaimed that new music is indeed coming very soon and that fans will love the new releases just as much as her earlier work. He had this to say about new music….

“Aaliyah music only work with its soulmate, which is me.”

Perhaps he will include it in upcoming Empire shows next season?

Stay tuned…
