The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their second child – this time a girl – into their home and into the monarchy. She arrived on Saturday at 8:34am England time, weighing 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

The little girl, whose name has yet to be announced, joins big brother George, who turns 2 in July. The birth effectively makes her fourth in line to the throne, bumping uncle Harry to the fifth spot.

George is about to get some competition!

The Palace explains that the baby’s name will be revealed ‘in due course’.

In other words, they will all converge and then decide. And how many would like to place bets that Queen Elizabeth will flip her wig if the girl is named Princess Diana? Diana as a middle name is likely. But as her first name?

Don’t bet on it!
