If there were an MVP award at the Emmys, Sarah Paulson would be a lock year after year. As American Horror Story enters its fifth season and Jessica Lange vacating stage right, 2015 may be the year that Paulson gets each and every accolade coming her way.

It’s long overdue.

this year, Paulson’s awards season is sealed…with a kiss

Each year of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy has crafted a story that develops rich characters (and back stories) that resonate with viewers. No matter the season, no matter the role, Sarah Paulson has always fully encompassed the character, falling into Billie, Lana, Cordelia, Bette, and Dot with exceptional precision. So, it is only fitting that the fifth year, the year usually when shows of merit being to earn their stripes, that one of its most underrated performers receives her just desserts.

It’s not that each journey hasn’t been delicious.

Cordelia had us salivating as the next Supreme

With casts that have boasted Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, and a slew of other amazing actors, it is almost shocking that Paulson has somehow managed a way to steal the season out from under the likes of the aforementioned lauded actresses. And although nominations have been coming her way for the last few seasons, she has yet to take home a trophy. In 2015, however, few would count her out of the running.

Sarah Paulson is a chameleon and her ability to morph into character will shine this year in yet another television entry from Ryan Murphy. In addition to the debut of Scream Queens in the fall, the acclaimed producer is bringing American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson to FX. Paulson will portray Marcia Clark, the prosecutor in what has been referred to as the trial of the century. So, the only question now is which show will bring home the trophy for Sarah Paulson? Or perhaps, it will be both?

The rise of an MVP is happening right before our eyes.

Stay tuned.
