It’s only been damn near a decade in the making and will be a few years longer, but now it looks as if Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character will finally receive top billing in her very own solo Marvel film in the near future. We all know the reason it took so long, but the good thing is that the Marvel has finally realized the error of their ways and are quickly seeking to rectify them.
Marvel fans may be a tad upset that The Wasp and Captain Marvel will have their own features before Black Widow, but if all reports hold it looks as if it may indeed be worth the wait, as the character continues to be one of the most loved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When is it likely that Johansson suit up for her solo film? Says studio head Kevin Feige…

“We’ve announced the next nine movies, 10 counting Civil War, through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that we’ll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then. Of the characters that you’ve just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow.”
Black Widow better be in theaters by 2020 or there will be some pissed off fans!
