J.J. Abrams Refutes Claims Lupita Nyongo’s Role Reduced in Upcoming Star Wars Film

One of Hollywood’s biggest directors is denying rumors that he has left many of Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o’s upcoming scenes in the blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on the cutting room floor. The rumors have reached such a fever pitch that he has directly responded to them, saying…

“The number of rumors floating around about ‘The Force Awakens’ is truly stunning. Some are wonderfully funny, others simply preposterous. But the only one more ridiculous than Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord is that I cut Lupita Nyong’o’s performance because it wasn’t satisfactory. In truth, her performance wasn’t satisfactory. It was spectacular. She has brought the character of Maz Kanata to life in the most wonderful, wise, touching, deep and funny way. Lupita never ceased to amaze me. Yes, we tried many approaches, and we finally landed on just what the film needed. She elevated all the scenes she is in, I’m forever grateful, and can’t wait for people to see her stunning performance.”

How anyone would know that anyway is worth an investigation as the movie has yet to be screened and no one has even seen the movie, including Lupita or her agents.

We will all have to wait until December 18^th to know if there was any truth to this rumor.
