2017 is not even a week old but it appears that the new year is not so much about killing you outright and placing you six feet under but more along the lines of calling you out and commencing a DRAG that makes you run for the darkly lit alleys and hope no one sees you. As Jenny McCarthy and husband Donnie Wahlberg have already done, the latest celeb to verbally SLAP pop diva Mariah into her place?
Her ex-husband, Tommy Mottola.
Although Mottola has gone on to marry another pop star, singer Thalia, that doesn’t mean he has completely NOT noticed that Mariah’s career has teetered and tottered over the years. Only a few days after her disastrous non-performance on New Year’s Eve, Mottola has this to say about what Mimi should do to recuperate her career:
“MC is arguably the greatest pop voice to come along in the last three decades. She has had more number one hits than any pop artist in history!!! She is a global icon and a treasure with incredible talent not only as a singer but as a great songwriter. What happened on NYE could’ve happened to anyone! Yes, her technical people should’ve helped pay more attention to all of it so that there was no chance of that happening.”
The mega-producer didn’t stop there, adding…
“My only advice is that she should hire more seasoned and respected professionals to surround her and help her with her career! I would never have encouraged her or guided her to do something like a reality television show!!!!! I don’t get it!! That does absolutely nothing for her integrity, her credibility, or her massive talent!! She should take a step back, think carefully and figure out what to do next. That is what she does best.. most certainly none of these issues or problems ever existed with her in her early days at Sony for the first 10 years when she skyrocketed to global superstardom!! Where absolutely meticulous and methodical attention was paid to every single detail and nuance that went on into her career!”
– verbal SLAP –
Mariah’s new manager, Stella Bulochnikov, caught wind of his opinionated words and issued her own verbal retaliation:
“Really? Tommy is a relic. Did he give you that statement from a rotary phone?”
But when you get caught red-handed with a vocal track that hits notes you haven’t hit since 1994, then you need to come up with some better excuses, Team Mimi. Try snatching your wig off! Try kicking off your heels and hurling it at an assistant. Try nudity! Try SOMETHING, sh*t! Here are the receipts…
Can this pop diva be saved?!
